Tamar Beraia is a Georgian-Swiss pianist known for her strength, maturity, musicality, and virtuosity. She has released two solo recordings, Portrait (2014) and Beethoven-Liszt (2018), showcasing her performances of Schumann, Beethoven, and Liszt. Tamar’s concert career includes recitals and orchestral performances across Europe, the USA, and beyond. She also performs with her sister Natia Beraia, and their piano duo album Sound Orbit was released in 2022.
Tamar has won prestigious competitions such as the 17th Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition (2012) and the International Piano Competition in Tbilisi (2005). Supported by Bayer’s stART programme from 2015 to 2018, she has been recognized as a promising artist.
Born in 1987 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Tamar began piano lessons at age five. She studied at the Z. Paliashvili music school and the State Conservatory in Georgia, winning early competitions in Lithuania and Russia. She holds a Master’s degree in Solo Performance from the Lucerne School of Music, where she studied with Professor Ivan Klánský.
