MARION TASSOU joined Nantes Opera at the age of nine, where she discovered the operatic repertoire before entering the Conservatoire National de Région de Nantes in the class of Maryvonne Jaffré. She continued her singing studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in the classes of Isabelle Germain and Fabrice Boulanger, obtaining her degree in 2008 with honours and congratulations from the jury. At the same time, she was taught by musical fi gures such as Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Cécile de Boever, Cécile Perrin and Alain Garichot as well as attending masterclasses with François Leroux and Udo Reinemann. Her supple and fl exible voice allows her to cover a vast repertoire from the baroque period to contemporary music with disarming naturalness. She has sung Melanto (Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria by Monteverdi), Ilia (Idomeneo by Mozart), Pamina (Die Zauberfl öte by Mozart), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck), Blanche de La Force (Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc), Pauline (La Vie Parisienne by Offenbach) and Mahenu (L’Ile du rêve by Reynaldo Hahn). She has also sung Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire with L’Instant Donné and Claude Vivier’s Hiérophanie with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, and has participated in the world premieres of operas by Dominique Pauwels (L’Autre hiver), Vasco Mendonça (Beach Bosch) and Marc-Olivier Dupin (Le mystère de l’écureuil bleu). Since 2012, she has forged a great relationship with the members of L’Instant Donné. With them, she has made CDs and radio broadcasts, while participating in numerous concerts in France and abroad, performing music by composers as diverse as Gabriel Fauré, Claude Vivier, Igor Stravinsky, Gérard Pesson, Frédéric Pattar and Mikel Urquiza.
