A shared passion for Ravel, contemporary music, and repertoire with percussion, transformed a casual encounter on the stairs of the Milan Conservatory into a duo that, beginning life almost as a game in 2013, now boasts a repertoire ranging from Bach to Berio… Both artists graduated in chamber music at the Conservatory of Milan with Emanuela Piemonti, and attended the contemporary music courses of Mauro Bonifacio, which had a decisive impact on Sites Auriculaires. Milanese pianist and harpsichordist, Erica Paganelli, passionate about southern Italian popular dance and ancient music, together with Daniela Filosa, a pianist of the Neapolitan school who is passionate about Chinese martial arts and classical literature, pass entire evenings between scores and coffees, putting into music their two worlds, different personalities and experiences, mixing them into a single sound. After studying at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and with Emilia Fadini and Mauro Bonifacio, who indelibly marked her interpretative approach, Erica Paganelli’s special interest in 20th-century and contemporary music has led to performances at prestigious international festivals, including Milano Musica and the International Festival of Contemporary Music in Venice. She has collaborated with ensembles such as Divertimento Ensemble and the Dedalo Ensemble, and has broadcast performances of Donatoni and Antheil on Rai Radio 3.
